3M Vikuiti privacy filters with patented 3M
“microlouver technology” in order to help companies
protect valuable and sensitive information displayed
on the screen from being viewed by non-authorized
people. Such protection is especially valuable in
Medical or Dental markets in order to meet
HIPAA
requirements, the
Financial market in order to meet
privacy requirements under the
Gramm-Leach-Bliley
Act, or any other situations where displayed
information confidentiality is critical, including
public libraries, office settings or information
kiosks.
A
FastPoint Privacy-Enhancedtm
monitor or touchscreen allows the authorized user a
clear view of the screen image when viewed head-on.
However, unauthorized viewers not directly in front
of the screen will not be able to see the on-screen
data outside of a narrow viewing angle as the screen

of this technology.) The privacy-Enhancedtm
monitors and touchscreens also reduce ambient light
hitting the LCD panel, which decreases glare and
increasing contrast. In addition, by being
integrated directly into the monitor or touchscreen,
the privacy guard cannot easily be removed (either
accidentally or by being stolen), unlike third-party
solutions.
